Product Review: Aveeno Baby Skin Care Essentials for Rashes, Eczema and More

From the time your little one is born and has left the safe protective confines of the womb, their skin is exposed to EVERYTHING, making them more susceptible to skin irritation, rashes and Ecxema.

From the time your little one is born and has left the safe protective confines of the womb, their skin is exposed to EVERYTHING. From the sun shining into your baby’s nursery to the humidity in your home, from the fabric on the cute clothes you have them wear to their little cute cheeks rubbing against yours as you burp them, your newborn’s skin is experiencing new things that may make it react in interesting ways.

This exposure can of course lead to those skin irritations, rashes and Ecxema outbreaks we nag our pediatricians about because we worry it’s something more serious: and the good news is, often times it’s nothing to be concerned about. But that doesn’t stop you from worrying: you find yourself wonder if it is causing your little one discomfort, wondering when it will go away or if it will get worse etc.

Our little one had a period in which he had a rash all over his skin. His face in particular had us worried, and Googling what it could be definitely didn’t help. Luckily, we made sure to check in with our pediatrician and our worst fears were set at ease. However, that didn’t stop us from needing to find a remedy or solution. So my fiance proceeded to dedicate a lot of her time, effort, and expertise into researching the best products for his skin.

The Products We Found to Be Amazing Skin Care Essentials

As stated in my Pampers Aqua Wipes product review, my fiance has sensitive skin and she is very particular about the products she puts on her skin, and by extension, particular about the products we put on baby’s skin. She likes them pareben-free, fragrance-free, hypoallergenic, steroid-free, cruelty-free and all that other good stuff we should care about in the 21st Century when it comes to what we put on our skin as well as our loved ones.

The products she went with were the Aveeno Baby Cleansing Therapy Moisturizing Wash and Aveeno Baby Eczema Therapy Moisturizing Cream. They not only checked every box with regards to what she considered to be prerequisites, but Aveeno as a brand is very highly recommended by pediatricians.

And more importantly, the wash and cream comes with the official Accepted stamp from the National Eczema Association (NEA). Products eligible for the NEA Seal of Acceptance™ are those that have been created or intended for use by persons with eczema or severe sensitive skin conditions and that have satisfied the NEA Seal of Acceptance™ criteria.

And with the weather warming up and us trying to take little walks when we can, we made sure to add Aveeno Baby Continuous Protection Zinc Oxide Suncreen Lotion (SPF 50) to his skin care regiment.

Final Score 4.5/5

These products definitely did deliver as promised. When compared to the photos we sent to our pediatrician during our panic, we definitely saw his skin improve, and the skin irritation and rashes have been pretty much gone since then.
